Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a robust background in travel consulting to lead and oversee our travel operations team. This role requires a Senior Travel Consultant with extensive expertise in managing travel bookings, client relationships, and team leadership. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, high customer satisfaction, and achieving business growth by implementing best practices in travel management.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

·         Oversee daily operations within the travel department, including bookings, itineraries, and customer service.

·         Ensure smooth operation and coordination between teams for seamless travel experiences.

·         Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Team Leadership & Development:

·         Lead, train, and mentor a team of travel consultants to meet performance targets.

·         Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to update team members on new travel trends, tools, and procedures.

·         Manage staffing requirements, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluation.

Client Relationship Management:

·         Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.

·         Handle escalations and resolve issues promptly, maintaining high service standards.

·         Gather client feedback to improve services and adapt offerings to meet their needs.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

·         Manage relationships with travel vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms.

·         Ensure compliance with company standards and policies in vendor dealings.

·         Oversee contracts with travel service providers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.

Process Improvement & Strategy Development:

·         Continuously analyze and improve operational processes to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.

·         Develop and implement strategies to expand business offerings and reach new markets.

·         Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to keep the company’s services relevant and competitive.

Financial Management:

·         Manage department budgets, cost controls, and revenue generation strategies.

·         Analyze financial performance, generate reports, and provide insights to senior management.

·         Work to meet or exceed revenue and profitability targets for the travel operations department.

Compliance & Documentation:

·         Ensure all operations adhere to travel industry regulations, health, and safety protocols.

·         Maintain accurate documentation of client bookings, vendor contracts, and financial transactions.

·         Implement policies to ensure compliance with local and international travel laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field. (Master’s degree is a plus.)
·         Minimum 10 years of experience in the travel industry.
·         Strong knowledge of global travel operations, booking systems (such as Amadeus, GSabre, etc.), and customer service practices.
·         Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
·         Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and meet financial targets.
·         Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects, and adapt to changing travel industry trends.

Key Skills:

·         Travel Management Systems: Proficiency in using global distribution systems (GDS) and other booking tools.
·         Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience in managing and leading teams within the travel industry.
·         Negotiation & Vendor Management: Strong negotiation skills to manage supplier contracts.
·         Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and provide efficient solutions to customer concerns and operational challenges.
·         Financial Acumen: Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
·         Customer Focused: Strong client orientation with a commitment to enhancing the customer experience.
